The state Champion Lifesaver competition was held at Swanbourne SLSC last Saturday. Our club was represented with a mix of youth and experience, and we were rewarded with some outstanding individual performances. In the Open female competition Julie Best achieved a state bronze medal with Tom Scott, Bailey Haffner and Jeff Scott placing 4th, 5th and 6th respectively in the Open males. This also enabled Tom Scott, Michael Kavanagh And Julie Best to qualify for the Australian Championships in April. Well done to all involved!!

Those kindly volunteering this Saturday - a message from Mrs D! Thank you everyone for volunteering this coming Saturday. Due to road closures, the event will now start at 6.40am not 7.30am. Sorry but all Lifesavers will need to be on the beach at 6.15am ready for a 6.30am water start for 70 half ironman competitors followed by 80 Olympic distance competitors. The roads are closed from 6am so please park at the Silos or Inlet and walk over the bridge to the Koombana Bay Jetty where the course will be set up. Water Safety or Patrol Uniform must be worn. All equipment will be there for you. Thank you so much and sorry for the change of start time. See you at 6.15am - Mrs D

On Sunday our club welcomed 13 delegates from the City of Bunbury's sister city Setagaya, Japan who are in town to celebrate 25 years of the sister city relationship. Delegates received a tour of the club and life-saving demonstrations. Meanwhile, our nippers messed up the sand with flags, beach sprints and other games, with some of the older kids venturing out into a very messy surf break.
